MADELEINE McCann is missing. She is the Sun’s Our Maddie. Or she was.

From the Sun:

Dear Posters,

Please be aware that users will no longer be able to post to the ‘Missing Madeleine’ discussion thread after 3pm on Friday, 7th November 2008. At this time, the thread will be changed to ‘read only’ and removed on Friday, 14th November 2008.

Since her disappearance in May 2007, the MY Sun community have debated and shown support in record numbers. During this time, many of you have developed online relationships and a community in itself. The sheer number of postings has shown how much the story has touched our readers.

Sadly, the investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance is still unsolved.

Though we appreciate that there is still ongoing interest and concern, the debate can at times get very heated and we feel it is time wind down the discussion thread.

We’re sure the MY Sun community will join everyone at The Sun in their continuing hope for Madeleine’s safe return.

WOW!!!!Seems the heated hateful discussion boards are coming to a end then???GOOD!!!
I also read this this morning. Its from the star saying that they are slashing the price of their news papers due to hardship times!!!!One of those being the huge payout they had to pay to the mccanns after printing the sh#t they reported about them!!!

The Daily Star today slashed its cover price by 15p to just 20p, undercutting the Sun to make it the cheapest national daily newspaper.

The price drop makes it 30p cheaper than the Daily Mail, 20p cheaper than stable mate the Daily Express and tabloid rival the Daily Mirror, both priced 40p, and 10p cheaper than The Sun, which dropped its cover price nationally to 30p in August.

News of the price cut was emblazoned across the cover of today's paper with a caption "10p cheaper than the Sun – and 10 times more fun."

The paper also ran a double page spread on pages four and five about the price change, claiming the cut in cover price raised its credit crunch-beating credentials.

"Today the Daily Star is cutting its cover price to a credit crunch-busting 20p," stated the article.

"This makes us officially Britain's best value national newspaper.

"It gives you an extra 15p in your pocket every weekday – and, let's face it, in today's tough economic climate every penny really does count."

The two page article also included claims to a string of celebrity endorsements of the paper, a picture of owner Richard Desmond embracing Simon Cowell was just one of many images of famous people clutching a copy of the paper.

The price cut comes against a backdrop of falling sales of the newspaper. Figures released last month by the Audit Bureau of Circulations for September showed that the paper has suffered a 9% year on year fall and a drop of nearly 3% month-on-month in sales to a daily average circulation of 731,433

The price cut follows a string of high profile problems for Express Newspapers, owner of the Daily Star, which was forced last month to apologise and pay £375,000 in libel damages to the so-called 'tapas seven', the group Kate and Gerry McCann dined with on the night their daughter Madeleine disappeared, after the publisher ran a series of defamatory stories about the group.

In March, Kate and Gerry McCann accepted £550,000 from Express Newspapers after the Daily and Sunday Express, the Daily Star and Daily Star Sunday ran numerous defamatory articles after their daughter Madeleine disappeared from the Praia da Luz resort in Portugal on May 3, 2007.

Yer right credit crunch my a#ss.As if they care about how much the public pays for a paper!!!LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
More like............... we are finding it hard to make a profit recently due to the fact we have had to pay a huge sum to the find Madeleine fund for telling lies about k+g and now find ourselves in a desperate situation trying to build up our losses.
