PJ investigates trap to kidnap baby

The Judicial Police of Aveiro is investigating a complaint of attempted abduction of a baby of 14 months, which occurred at the end of Saturday afternoon on the bike path of Murtosa.

Very frightened, the young mother told authorities that followed the bike with your child sitting in a basket on the back when he was approached by a group of men who left the interior of two cars - one with a foreign registration - requiring they will hand over the boy. "Give me your baby, give me," have ordered one of the group members, who fled after the woman started screaming for help.

According to the testimony of women, kidnapping attempt occurred late Saturday afternoon.

The victim had just left work in a factory, after having gone to fetch the child with family and went to his house when a bicycle will have been addressed.

The young mother told investigators he saw a first car to pass and that minutes later stopped in front of her.

Then came a second car, foreign registration, which left the interior of the man who demanded the surrender of the infant son.

Only the woman's cries for help have prevented the kidnapping came to fruition.

After the group had fled the scene, the victim went to GNR Estarreja, which came very nervous, and told what had happened.

Since it was a case of judicial competence, the inspectors were called to the scene and collected the testimony of the woman who did not give many details about the kidnappers, as it still was in a panic.

Nobody will have witnessed the attempted abduction. However, the Judiciary, the victim showed - is quite credible and consistent throughout the deposition.
