Kate McCann participated in a vigil for missing persons.

The mother of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann, attended a vigil yesterday at the Cathedral of York, UK, in honor of Claudia Lawrence, who disappeared two years ago and which yesterday celebrated its 37th. Anniversary.

According to a statement that the DN had access, the mother of Maddie, the British girl who disappeared on 3 May 2007 in Praia da Luz, Algarve, was invited to to attend by Claudia's father, Peter Lawrence. The two appeared together during the religious service which was attended by more than a hundred people at the Cathedral of York.

At the end of the ceremony, Kate said that "an vigil represents a very hard time, but that brings us closer to others who are in the same situation as us." For Claudia Lawrence, Maddie´s mother added: "Our daughters have different ages and circumstances under which disappeared also differ, but we share the same pain, the same fear and the same hope '

The religious service was given by Archbishop John Sentamu, who since the disappearance of Maddie has been a great support for the McCann family. This ceremony also served to remind the need to continue efforts to find Madeleine McCann, among others missing. Indeed, even the Archbishop said that the ceremony was aimed at allowing people to manifest their support not only the families of Lawrence and Claudia Madeleine McCann, but also those of all missing persons.
