This a request from Marcos Aragão

Post by Pedro Silva on Sat Jul 31, 2010 6:53 pm

My friends, here is a request from Dr. Marcos Aragão:

"Very important information! I just found an article in the Express, 23 this month, reporting that

another girl disappeared from the Algarve,

her mother was killed (his body was found), and the child has been abducted and not found.

The PJ is trying to cover up the case.

Can (and should) disclose the information, just add that it was I who informed. Thank you.

Here's the link:

Here´s the translation from the link:

Algarve: Baby Whereabouts unknown after death of mother
PJ is investigating the Algarve in the case of the disappearance of a girl about a year old, whose mother was found dead on the beach Canavial.
Already arrested a suspect.

Will suspect dragged the victim's body into the sea
Louis Chafer / Lusa
The Judicial Police is investigating the Algarve in the case of the disappearance of a girl about a year old, whose mother was found dead on the beach Canavial, Lagos, July 10.

Speaking to Lusa, the source of the Board of Southern Judicial Police (PJ) confirmed that "investigations are going," but currently "can not be given more information."

The same source said the authorities fear there is the same media exposure that occurred with the case "Maddie" Praia da Luz.

On 10 July, one of the last times that the girl was seen, two people warned, by the number of medical emergency, 112, that a man was dragging a woman into the sea at Praia Canavial in an area not guarded and difficult to access, explained the source of the Maritime Authority to Lusa.

Georgina is to Zito Angola

The Maritime Authority was alerted and arrived at the beach when Canavial "found the woman already dead," said the commander Lusa Cruz Martins, responsible for the captaincy of Lagos and Portimão.

Georgina Zito, 30, of Angolan origin, had come to the Algarve on July 6 and stayed at the Hotel Vila Galé, in Meia Praia, Lagos, his daughter Alexandra, and a man of German origin, which is the main suspect homicide.

On site, the National Institute for Medical Emergency (INEM) has declared the death of Georgina Zito still on the beach and the case was handed to the prosecutor, who is investigating the crime through the Judiciary.

I suspect the body will be dragged into the sea

The two men who gave the warning to 112 still managed to see and speak with the Zito Georgina man who dragged out to sea.

According to their testimony, the suspect, a 43-year-old woman's body brought to the sand and with the baby on her lap, said he would seek "pills" but eventually did not return to the beach.

Three days later, the man traveled to Germany and was arrested on the 15th, following a European arrest warrant issued by the Portuguese authorities.

The alleged suspect in the death of Georgina Zito, Gunnar Dori is now also suspected of having killed the girl about a year old, who is missing.

This is the third child who disappeared in recent years in the Western Algarve. The previous two were Joana Cipriano (September 2004) and Madeleine McCann (May 2010).

Spread this to everyone you know.

This sad story has been widely reported in the news in all media around. The father, a german guy, is now in jail in Germany for having killed the mother and having made the child disappear. The lady, and probably the little girl, are/were coloured, the mother was pressing for the father's recognition of the child (in Germany) which he didn't want to do affraid of family's reaction. The girl's body hasn't been found.

Now, police in Germany is doing their job, and it is true that PJ is doing nothing.

One thing one could also conclude is that criminals feel that going out on tourist trips may, just may, give them some 'protection'...???? Algarve is not the most sought after place for this kind of stories, is it? But they happen. All over the world.

PJ is doing nothing? Not even searching for witnesses, not even searching for the child? How very sad is that.

Nice to see you're posting again Maria. We've missed you!

A REQUEST FROM MARKOS ARAGOA

Post by Royal on Mon Aug 02, 2010 6:22 am

This sounds more like a family dispute and possible murder rather than child abductions. It is not a very clear picture as to what this case is all about other than a man has seemingly been arrested for killing this woman and her one year old child. The report states the child is missing but also suggests the child is dead. The fact that the PJ are trying to hide this latest crime is typical of their actions and methods of investigation or the lack of it. Perhaps in time we will get a clearer picture of what this is all about?

Hi, Alroy. There is still a possibility that he has left this child somewhere, or even sold her.

The PJ are all too keen for missing children to be dead as far as I can see. And then they don't have to shift their backsides to look for them.

I believe I expressed myself wrongly.

The crime was committied in Lagos, the man vanished. PJ issued a EAW and the man was as a result arrested in Germany, his own country. The man has not been extradicted therefore there is not much PJ can do for the moment.

But the child is still missing, Maria. And almost certainly in Portugal.

Germany refuses to extradite Algarve murder suspect
13/11/2010

Germany has rejected a request from Portugal to extradite presumed double murderer Gunnar Dorries, who is a German national, and who is believed to have murdered an Angolan woman and their daughter in the Algarve in July this year.

Munich Public Prosecutor Joachim Ettenhofer told Lusa News Agency “we have decided that the trial should be carried out in Germany as there are means of gathering evidence here as well as in Portugal and the same goes for the witnesses and the case’s background”.

The decision regarding the request from the Portuguese justice system, made around four months ago, was pronounced last week by the Munich Public Prosecutor’s office. A start date for the trial has not yet been scheduled as investigations are still ongoing.

The suspect initially appealed against the extradition request via his German lawyer Sascha Petzold, because of the different languages but also so as his family could continue to visit him in jail.

In Germany the suspect could face a maximum sentence of life, which in reality could be as little as 15 years, but could be held indefinitely if he is still considered a danger to society. In Portugal the maximum sentence the suspect would face is 25 years in jail.

Dorries, a 43-year-old engineer is believed to have killed Angolan Georgina Zito, with whom he was having an affair despite living with another woman, while they were on holiday in Lagos. He is also believed to have killed his and Zito’s 21-month-old daughter Alexandra.

As far as German and Portuguese police are aware the suspect travelled to Portugal on 6 July 2010 accompanied by Georgina Zito, an Angolan national residing in Stuttgart, and their daughter Alexandra. They were staying in a hotel in Lagos.

On 10 July he is believed to have dragged Georgina into the sea on Canavial beach, where he drowned her, trying to make it look like an accident. He is believed to have then fled the scene, carrying Alexandra, who has been missing ever since.

He arrived back at the hotel hours later without his daughter, and on 13 July he travelled to Lisbon in a rented vehicle, from where he caught a flight back to Munich.

On 15 July a German police officer from a special command unit detained Dorries in his apartment after a European warrant for his arrest was issued by Portuguese authorities.

Since then he has been held in police custody and has been interrogated several times about the whereabouts of his daughter, though he refuses to disclose any further information.

Nevertheless he did say that the child was still alive the last time he saw her and claims that he handed her over to a couple of tourists in the Algarve. Both German and Portuguese police have carried out searches in the areas that he indicated in his statements though found no leads. Police now assume she is dead.
