INTERNATIONAL Human Trafficking Awareness Day - Jessie's case has now been told in the media in the United Kingdom‏
A few years ago, the story of Jessie's disappearance was also told on a missing person's show in South Africa.
JESSIE, we will find you – I WILL FIND YOU, OR DIE TRYING. No matter where in this world you are, love Mom.
Thank you to Jane O'Neil for writing it, and a HUGE thank you to Nigel Graham for EVERYTHING. Sincerely, Glendene.

A WAREHOUSE worker turned music man has reached out across the Atlantic to the family of a missing woman.
Self-taught musician Nigel Graham, from Washington, was so touched by the story of Jessie Foster that he offered to compose a song about her.
Jessie, from Calgary in Canada, was 21 when she disappeared from Las Vegas five years ago.
She had been arrested twice for prostitution and her family fear she has fallen victim to an international human trafficking ring.
Her distraught mum, Glendene Grant, said Nigel’s ballad helped keep her daughter’s case in the spotlight.

Glendene, who hosts her own radio show, said: “Jessie’s Song is one of the most important things done for us in Jessie’s case. I will never be able to thank him enough. Plus he did the Christmas for the Missing song, for Jessie, Lindsay Baum and Madeleine McCann. Nigel is amazing.
“Jessie’s Song is helping with our search for Jessie, because it is another tool we can use to raise awareness about her disappearance.
“I also have it as the introduction song to my BlogTalk Radio show I do every Tuesday and the Christmas for the Missing song was shared and is still being shared during the holiday season.”
Jessie’s family have set up a website dedicated to their search – www.jessiefoster.ca – and have offered a $50,000 reward for information.

Nigel, 42, who lives in High Usworth, has already penned what he hopes will be an anthem for this year’s Olympic Games and a moving song for missing tot Madeleine McCann.
Both became hits on video-sharing website YouTube and led to him writing a song about missing U.S. 10-year-old, Lindsay Jo Baum and being interviewed on Fox News.
He said: “I then decided to help someone else. This is when I read Jessie Foster’s story.
“She was a 21-year-old girl, a model student with her full life ahead of her.
“Jessie’s story is like something out of a Steven Seagal film. She was taken by some bad guys and women to make money.
“These kind of people need stamping down on, so I decided to help her mam out and got in touch with her to ask if I could help her out by writing a song for her.
“She said yes, so I enlisted the help of a YouTube friend called Anastasia Welsh from Spain.
“She made Jessie’s mam a YouTube campaign video. The whole purpose of this song and video is to remind these people we are after them and Jessie’s mam will get full justice one day.”
Nigel is due to appear on Glendene’s radio show later this month.
Jessie’s Song can be heard at www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbT2K6q0caI.

Wednesday, January 11, 2012: (Inter)National Human Trafficking Awareness Day‏
PRE-SCRIPT (I wanted to put this here first, not after my email – so it is a PS, but not a POST-SCRIP): Already this year, we have got 4 different messages from people with info they thought might help us find Jessie. Nothing has yet, but you never know. All I want is for this contact to never stop – and for almost 6 years, it hasn't.

Over the years I have felt sabotaged by things that have happened: 14 Facebook accounts being disabled and my NowPublic account being disabled (this even stumped the techs for the site, as there was no footprint or anything saying who did it or when it was done). But the other day when I got a message from one of the people with the Dreamcatchers for Abused Children BlogTalkRadio called me to ask why in the world I deleted the Bobby Brown interview from last week. I DID NOT DELETE MY INTERVIEW WITH BOBBY BROWN. It did not surprise me that it happened, but it did make me sad. That was one of my proudest interviews. I will always be happy to say I was able to get Bobby Brown to come on my show. But now it is gone . . . and that is really too bad. SABOTAGED?? Who knows.

(Inter)National Human Trafficking Awareness Day (Wednesday, January 11, 2012) and (Inter)National Human Trafficking Awareness Month (the entire month of January) – are both recognized in the United States and we need it to be adopted around the world – as human trafficking is not a national issue – it is a worldwide . . . international issue – so let's treat it as such.
I just have to say, I am so glad that this crime is not as hidden as it was when my daughter, Jessie Foster, became one of it's victims. People have come forward, opened up about this crime and with that knowledge, other people have been saved.

I am not glad about the amount of victims, obviously, but I am happy that more and more people are rescued AND more & more laws are changing AND those that now know, cannot un-know – because it is with the force of everyone that changes will be made.

Which is why, in my opinion, it should be INTERNATIONAL HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS DAY and I am sure by 2013 it will be.

Part of her article was called Jessie’s Story

Image: www.hopeforthesold.com
Glendene Grant has been searching for her daughter Jessica “Jessie” Foster since March 2006. Jessie is a victim of human trafficking. Originally from Canada she was lured to the United States via a “friend” (more likely a recruiter). The last time her family heard from her she was in Las Vegas. Then she disappeared. No further contact was made.
Later, family found out that Jessie had been forced to work at an escort agency. She also had been arrested several times for solicitation. Her family believes that she may have tried to get herself arrested thinking authorities would make her leave the US, but she was always sent back to her alleged boyfriend who was a known pimp. Family also found out that before she went missing, that she had been beaten and hospitalized with a broken jaw.
This case like many had tons of red flags pointing to human trafficking.
Jessie’s mom is spreading the word about Human Trafficking and doing a lot when it comes to educating people on this subject. When I asked Glendene what advice she would give to other mothers on how to protect their children from the dangers of human trafficking she offered her insights:
“If their daughters (or sons) start pulling away from family & friends to be with someone, if their habits change (and usually this happens fast), then you need to find out what is happening and what is new in their lives. They also need to be careful of their surroundings, especially in places they have not been before. Try to pair up, never go places alone.”

Tonight on my BTR show: special guest, author MATTHEW O'BRIEN‏
Tuesday, January 17, 2012:
Matthew O'Brien is an author and journalist who's lived in Las Vegas since 1997. His first book, Beneath the Neon: Life and Death in the Tunnels of Las Vegas, chronicles his adventures in the city's underground flood channels. His second book, My Week at the Blue Angel: And Other Stories from the Storm Drains, Strip Clubs, and Trailer Parks of Las Vegas, (WHICH INCLUDES JESSIE'S CASE), is a creative-nonfiction collection set in off-the-beaten-path Vegas. He's the founder of Shine a Light, a community project that provides housing, drug counselling, and other services to the people living in the drains.
Matt was a reporter for the Las Vegas CityLife when I met him in Las Vegas, my 2nd time there. He was writing a story, WHERE'S JESSIE?, so he came with us around the city, to appointments with the police, handing out posters, going to the house Jessie had been living in (kept at) in North Las Vegas. There was myself (Jessie's mom, Glendene), Jessie's dad Dwight, Matt and the Global TV crew from Calgary – reporter & cameraman – who also met with us in Vegas to do a big story about Jessie, going around the city with the camera on. What an experience – and what a lot of exposure for Jessie.

I am an abolitionist: M.A.T.H. (Mothers Against Trafficking Humans) by Glendene Grant
I made this video for the NOT FOR SALE's "I'm An Abolitionist" campaign. It said the videos could not be more than 90 seconds, so I did a test and it was 1 minute 43 seconds long, so I thought PERFECT.

http://www.youtube.com/user/JessiesMomGlendene?email=share_video_user

Then I went on to the site to view others sent in and I noticed some were longer than 90 seconds, one was even 11 minutes long. So I thought, "okay, I guess it will be alright if it goes a bit longer" . . . so, Jim set up the camera and did the video of me, which ended up being 2 minutes and 26 seconds long.

After around 15 minutes of uploading, I got an error message: VIDEO REJECTED. Then I saw where they noted that the videos could not be bigger than 100MB and I noticed that mine was 157MB. So, I knew it would not work and I really did not want to re-do it, so I didn't. So, now this video will be used for any other purpose than what it was originally intended for, but I will still be using it.

NAME OFVIDEO: M.A.T.H. (Mothers Against Trafficking Humans)

VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS: Each video should include the following 5 pieces information -

1) Your name:

My name is Glendene and I'm an abolitionist.

2) Where you live:

I live in Kamloops, British Columbia in western Canada.

3) What you do that makes you an abolitionist:

My daughter, Jessie Foster, is an international endangered missing person and the victim of human trafficking.

Jessie went missing March 29th, 2006, almost 6 years ago.

Jessie's disappearance has prompted me to take action against the crime of human trafficking.

Her case has been told in hundreds of newspaper articles; in dozens of radio and TV and magazine interviews; in documentaries; and in many books.

I write several blogs, talking about human trafficking and I am active on many social networking sites.

I even now have my own human trafficking awareness and education BlogTalkRadio show.
Um . . . I also give presentations on human trafficking. I give awareness presentations at different events. Launches of organizations; fundraisers; um . . . high schools; and uh . . . most recently at a university.

In November of 2010, I was given the honour of being the Hope Giver for Salvation Army Canada. Hope Giver is where you were once without hope and you now give hope to others.
And I was working with Canada Fights Human Trafficking; and I'm also on the Board of Directors for the Frederick Douglass Family Foundation. Frederick Douglass is one of the most well-known abolitionists in history.

There are many more organizations that I work with.

I've spoken at different events alongside a Member of Canadian Parliament, Joy Smith; author, Professor Benjamin Perrin; and Miss Canada, Tara Teng. They are all abolitionists and they all are working together with each other and with myself and others to combat this crime.

4) How your actions fight slavery:

I know that my actions have helped to fight human trafficking, I've seen it in results of what I do.

Parents and young women have come up to me, they've spoken to me about issues similar to Jessie's case, um . . . they seem to be, um . . . "strange" and now they feel as if they were signs of possible human trafficking.

I've also been told several times that I've helped them -- or someone they love, um . . . to perhaps not become a victim.

Students, male and female, come up to me at high schools. They tell me they'll "never forget Jessie"; that they are so grateful to now be informed about human trafficking; and I get hugs.

5) How others can join you in the movement:

Others can help me in this movement by joining M.A.T.H. (Mothers Against Trafficking Humans) on Facebook.

And I would like everybody to become informed; to stay informed; and inform others.

AND TO BECOME AN ABOLITIONIST.

Thank you.

News Release

MP Joy Smith Introduces Motion to Establish February 22 as National Human Trafficking Awareness Day

Ottawa, ON: MP Joy Smith, Member of Parliament for Kildonan-St. Paul and national anti-human trafficking advocate, has introduced Motion M-317 which calls on the Government of Canada to establish February 22 as Canada’s National Human Trafficking Awareness Day.

M-317— February 14, 2012 — Mrs. Smith (Kildonan—St. Paul)

That, in the opinion of the House, the government should encourage Canadians to raise awareness of the magnitude of modern day slavery in Canada and abroad and to take steps to combat human trafficking, and should do so by designating the 22nd day of February each year as National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, to coincide with the anniversary of the unanimous declaration of the House to condemn all forms of human trafficking and slavery on February 22, 2007.

MP Joy Smith selected February 22 to reflect the anniversary of the day that the House of Commons unanimously condemned human trafficking by adopting her Private Members Motion M-153.

“On February 22, 2007, Canada’s Parliament made a powerful statement by condemning human trafficking and calling for Canada to take steps to combat human trafficking in Canada and abroad,” stated MP Joy Smith. “Today, sex trafficking and forced labour continues to occur across our nation involving both victims trafficked from abroad and domestic victims, including many from First Nations communities. Over the past few years, modern day slavery has been especially exposed in Canada through cases of young Canadian boys and girls, forced into prostitution.”

In 2010, MP Joy Smith released her proposal for a National Action Plan to Combat Human Trafficking entitled ‘Connecting the Dots’. This proposal was motivated by her conviction that the complete elimination of modern day forms of slavery requires more than just government initiatives.

“Our government has taken a number of important steps to tackle human trafficking including the development of a National Action Plan to Combat Human Trafficking,” said MP Joy Smith. “Yet, government action alone will not end modern day slavery. Each Canadian must take steps to prevent human trafficking and end this brutal injustice. A National Human Trafficking Awareness Day will help rally Canadian together to effectively eliminate today’s many forms of slavery and raise awareness across Canada.”

“By connecting Canadians with law enforcement, nongovernmental organizations and policy makers, we are connecting the dots,” said MP Joy Smith. “I will never forget the motivating words of a man who heard my message and jumped to his feet to declare that he was proud to be a dot.”

Free-them, a Canadian anti-slavery advocacy organization, was inspired by this man’s enthusiasm and launched the “Proud to be a Dot” Campaign to support MP Smith’s efforts and encourage Canadians to join the fight against human trafficking.

“Until slavery has been eradicated, there is much to be done,” says MP Joy Smith. “We need to get the message out that regardless of who you are, where you live or what you do, you can be a part of the solution to stopping human trafficking.”

MP Joy Smith is one of Canada’s leading anti-human trafficking advocates and has succeeded in bringing forward legislation to combat human trafficking. In 2010, MP Smith’s Bill C-268 became law creating Canada’s first child trafficking offence with stiff minimum sentences. Last October, MP Smith introduced Bill C-310 to amend the Criminal Code by adding human trafficking as an extraterritorial offence as well as enhancing the definition of human trafficking.

Re: A big thank you from Jessie´s mom Glendene

Post by Pedro Silva on Thu Feb 23, 2012 8:27 am

February 22, 2012 Canada's first (unofficial) National Human Trafficking Awareness Day‏
On January 22, 2012 I send out an email to everyone, including MP Joy Smith, which is posted below. After that is the message I got back from Joy and finally, her news release regarding NATIONAL HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS DAY IN CANADA!!
SUBJECT LINE- January: (Inter)National Human Trafficking Awareness Month ~ January 11: (Inter)National Human Trafficking Awareness Day
From: Glendene Grant
Sent: January 22, 2012 3:54 PM
To: Smith, Joy - Assistant 2; Smith, Joy - Assistant 2
Subject: January: (Inter)National Human Trafficking Awareness Month ~ January 11: (Inter)National Human Trafficking Awareness Day
I would like to (but I have no idea how in the world to go about it) have January 11 proclaimed in Canada as National Human Trafficking Awareness Day and then hopefully we can get it recognized as INTERNATIONAL Human Trafficking Awareness Day. And then perhaps, have January proclaimed as International Human Trafficking Awareness Month.
These are is such important things to do and they have already been done in the United States.
I was hoping we could have it done so we can recognize January 2012 as the first National Human Trafficking Awareness Month in Canada, and January 11, 2012 as the first National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. And both would also then be recognized internationally.
I was reading this article in USA Today – Human trafficking a growing crime in the U.S., which had this statement in it, "That's why President Obama declared January National Human Trafficking Awareness month."
There was also a link to the U.S. Department of Justice where I then searched Human Trafficking Awareness Day and got the following link: http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/ovc/news/featuredres.htmlwhere I then found this statement: January 11th Is Human Trafficking Awareness Day - Human trafficking dehumanizes and traumatizes victims while often shocking communities upon its discovery. Victims include U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and foreign-born men, women, and children who are trafficked for sex and/or labour purposes in both large cities and small towns. On January 11th, Human Trafficking Awareness Day, help educate and drive public attention to this crime that violates our nation’s commitment to human rights and dignity.
Sadly, that exact statement would fit with any country in place of U.S. citizens . . . Victims include Canadian citizens, lawful permanent residents, and foreign-born men, women, and children who are trafficked for sex and/or labour purposes in both large cities and small towns.
So, if you can help me in any way – please do!!! Thank you, Glendene.

Re: A big thank you from Jessie´s mom Glendene

Post by Pedro Silva on Tue Mar 13, 2012 3:59 am

If anyone is able to help, it would be greatly appreciated‏

I was wondering if any of my Canadian non-profit organizations out there (I would assume it has to be Canadian) would be able to help me out . . . or if someone knows someone who knows someone who can (which is why I am send this to everyone!
First off, as everyone knows, Jessie has been missing (almost) 6 years now, and after all these years I have done a lot of work with my computer. However, my 2nd laptop is slowing kicking the bucket.

I do know that I have got a lot of use out of them both, but all computers only have so much life in them and I just cannot be without one and do what I do.
I use my laptop, not just for me to keep sharing info about Jessie, other missing & exploited people & human trafficking awareness, but I also used it when I do my presentations and my BlogTalkRadio show.

Now, I have been offered to have my laptop replaced, but we would need to be able to supply a tax receipt for the donation, but I am not a non-profit, so me writing one would not do.
SO, if anyone out there is able to provide a tax receipt for me to have a new laptop donated, PLEASE, PLEASE contact me ASAP.
Thank you all, Glendene.

MEDIA RELEASE, Jessie Foster missing 6 years, new age enhancement‏
Please contact me for more information or an interview regarding this press release, thank you. And thank you all for your continued support in the search for Jessie. I pray it does not take another 6 years to find answers, but if it does, I will never give up and I know most of you will still be here for us – Jessie's mom Glendene.
Also available for interviews Monday to Wednesday, March 26th, 27th & 28th - DIANA P. TREPKOV, Certified Forensic Artist: diana@forensicsbydiana.com

MEDIA RELEASE
March 26, 2012
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT: Jessie Foster's mom, Glendene Grant (250) 374-6137 /glendene@shaw.ca / jessiesmom@jessiefoster.ca
JESSIE FOSTER, missing 6 years (since March 29, 2006) - NEW AGE ENHANCEMENT DRAWING RELEASED
I would like to announce the release of an age enhancement drawing of Jessie (below), to the approximate age of 28 years old, by Canadian Certified Forensic Artist, Diana P. Trepkov. Diana also did others drawings of Jessie 2 years ago when she was missing 4 years and almost 25 years old. Diana and Glendene were on CTV's Canada AM to announce the release of those drawings. (Website: http://www.forensicsbydiana.com)
Jessie Foster disappeared from North Las Vegas on March 29, 2006 after being taken there from Canada in the spring of 2005, ending up in Las Vegas on May 13, 2005. She was kept in Las Vegas for 10 months, during which she was beaten, hospitalized with a broken jaw, forced to work at an escort service and arrested for solicitation of prostitution.
Jessie is known by all who know her as a good girl, a good person, and certainly not one to go to another country and work in the illegal sex-trade. Jessie was forced into that life after she was taken away from the security of her family and friends and beaten and brainwashed to do as she was told.
Jessie is Canada's most well-known missing human trafficking victim and she has become a ‘poster-child’ for this crime nationally and internationally. People around the world pray for Jessie's return, at the same time they are very grateful to have learned about this horrific crime that took this beautiful daughter, sister, friend away.
Jessie's mother does anything and everything she can to raise awareness about her daughter's disappearance with the hopes that she is found (alive or not, Jessie needs to come home). Hosting a BlogTalkRadio show about the missing & exploited and human trafficking (http://tinyurl.com/GlendenesBTRshow), giving very important human trafficking awareness presentations around the country at high schools, colleges and universities and for other organizations that are fighting to combat human trafficking - including being invited by the City of Moncton, New Brunswick to speak at their REALITY vs. MYTH human trafficking conference next month. The keynote speaker for that event is Victor Malarek, from CTV's W5 and the author of the anti-human trafficking books: THE NATASHA and THE JOHNS. (Link to event: http://tinyurl.com/MonctonNB-RealityVsMyth)
Jessie's case has been written about in at least 8 books; told about in documentaries; and it has been in hundreds of newspaper & magazine articles; radio interviews and TV news broadcasts.
Jessie had a song written for her by songwriter Nigel Graham from the United Kingdom called "JESSIE'S SONG" and available on iTunes and Amazon for just 99¢ to download. Nigel's songs have been written about in the news several times, and Jessie's case has been in the London, England newspaper twice. (Sunderland Echo, London, England articles: http://tinyurl.com/JessieSongSunderlandEcho / http://tinyurl.com/BenSongSunderlandEcho / iTunes: http://tinyurl.com/JessieSongiTunes / Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/JessieSongAMAZON)
In May to coincide with International Missing Children's Day on the 25th (and coincidentally, Jessie's 28th birthday on the 27th) there will be a video released by Australian singer/songwriter/musician Lee Safar called "PROJECT MISSING SWEET ANGEL" (whose music can be heard on the soundtrack of the Twilight movie series) to go with her song called "SWEET ANGEL", which will have 25 posters of missing people, including Jessie. THIS WILL BE RELEASED INTERNATIONALLY. (Website: http://leesafar.com / Listen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5wWLB8iED8)

Post by Pedro Silva on Thu Mar 29, 2012 8:34 am

I am very happy to say that Sunday’s press release has resulted in some very good media articles and interviews.

First off, David Lohr with the Huffington Post wrote this article – Jessie Foster Missing: Age-Progressed Drawing Released of Suspected Sex Trafficking Victim: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/26/jessie-foster-missing_n_1379848.html – which has been shared around the world. Not counting the different sites this article was reposted on (the Daily New in the UK; many human trafficking sites; news sites; blogs; etc) this article was shared over 300 times and there are over 330 comments posted (some are negative, but it still has people talking).

Then I got a call Monday morning from Radio NL, here in town and that was played throughout the day today.

And I got a call Monday afternoon from CFJC TV, here in town, and a reporter and camera man came over this morning and this was on the local news tonight - Jessie Foster missing | Six years later : http://www.cfjctv.com/story.php?id=7878.

Please listen to this song to raise awareness to the victims of human trafficking – Twenty Seven Million – Matt Redman and LZ7 (Official): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K69NdzPvwj0

PS: I want to invite you to listen in on to radio talk show.Yes, you heard that right, I have my own talk show on BlogTalkRadio.

Get all the juicy details about it by clicking on the following link http://www.blogtalkradio.com/jessie-foster-sex-human-trafficking-awareness

In than 8 hours from this writing it will be 6 LONG YEARS since I got a call that scared the crap out of me. I thought it was Jessie (the area code on the call display was Las Vegas 702) and it sounded like someone calling - then in the 2nd & 3rd calls, SCREAMING for help.

Within 24 hours from this writing we knew something was drastically wrong and before long we knew she was missing.

FROM THAT MOMENT ON, OUR LIVES HAVE NEVER BEEN THE SAME.

Jessie-Bessie, we love you so much and miss you more than we could have ever imagined but we have not lost hope we will find you and we have not forgot you, not even for a minute. You are on our minds ALL THE TIME.

JESSIE, YOU ARE CHANGING THE FACE OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING. PEOPLE ARE SO MUCH MORE AWARE OF THIS CRIME BECAUSE OF THE TRAGEDY THAT HAPPENED TO YOU. YOU HAVE CHANGED LIVES AND YOU HAVE SAVED LIVES AND WE CANNOT WAIT FOR YOU TO COME HOME. You have family members to meet . . . your little sisters are both mommies :( and family members who have left us :) and we need to have you back with us where you belong.

I will find you, Sweetie - or die trying, Mom

OK, WHO WANTS TO HEAR SOME AWESOME NEWS???? Not the BEST news I would love to tell you, but still, it is good news!! I got this message from AMERICA'S MOST WANTED . . .‏

Dear Ms. Grant - I am a producer at America's Most Wanted, and I was hoping to get in contact with you.

We have been putting a lot of effort and resources into the crime of Sex Trafficking, especially in the last few months. I know we have mentioned Jessie's disappearance in connection with the Lindsay Harris disappearance.... and I know there is a pretty detailed web case on Jessie, but we have never interviewed a family member about the case. I am thinking this might be a good time, with the new age-enhanced sketch. We are also intrigued, and of course in admiration for your activism on Jessie's and other human trafficking cases.

Would you be interested in talking to me on the phone this weekend, to talk about a possible interview? Or at least, maybe we could gather some home movies or something with Jessie, and maybe some footage on your activities?

Please feel free to call me on my cell at any time tonight or this weekend. Our deadlines are always so tight, it would be nice to hear from you as soon as you have a free moment. My cell is ***-***-**** and I am in the Washington DC suburbs.

Best Regards - Amy Green, Producer, AMW

We are going to talk tomorrow!! Jessie-sweetie, this is all for you!! Thank you all for your continued support. Love Jessie's mom, Glendene.

ANOTHER AWESOME THING . . . I got the following message late last night. I will be hearing back from her later in the week.

THE SUBJECT LINE WAS: Would like to talk to you about Math

Hi Glendene, my name is Sue-Ann Mitchell and I am working for Jinder Chalmers, a TV writer, director, and producer (creator of the series Combat Hospital about Afghanistan). She is creating a TV drama for BLT Productions, a local production company, who were inspired to create a show about human trafficking based on Benjamin Perrin's book - Invisible Chains.

I am doing research for Jinder, and we have recently spoken to staff at the O.C.T.I.P. (Office to Combat Trafficking in Persons) office in Vancouver and members of the R.C.M.P. (Royal Canadian Mounted Police), and they suggested that we might speak with you. Basically I am doing research on human trafficking, and what that looks like in Vancouver and in Canada. The intention of the series is to bring attention to an issue that needs to be brought much more readily to public awareness.

I am wondering if you might have some time to speak with me. I would like to talk to you about M.A.T.H. (Mothers Against Trafficking Humans), and perhaps about your daughter's situation, if it is not too indelicate of me to ask.

Many thanks, and kind regards, Sue-Ann Mitchell.

CAN YOU IMAGINE IF THERE WERE TO BE A TV SERIES THAT HAS A MISSING HUMAN TRAFFICKING VICTIM 'LOOSELY' BASED ON JESSIE'S CASE?

CAN YOU IMAGINE IF THERE WERE TO BE A TV SERIES WITH AN ORGANIZATION 'LOOSELY' BASED ON M.A.T.H. (Mothers Against Trafficking Humans)?

I got an amazing message about a show I did on the disappearance of 16-year-old Joe Helt, missing since January 16, 1987 . . .

GINA: Thank you SO very much for putting such a great show out there about Joe's case Glendene! We really do appreciate it very much.

I wanted you to know that I as well as Joe's family TRULY appreciate what you've done. Thank you for doing so much for us.

One AMAZING thing has happened as a direct result of the show!!! An independent movie producer named Patricia Gillespie contacted us and she wants to create a documentary on Joe's case! She is going to work hard to really try and get it out as a feature film to be introduced at the Sundance Film Festival. Of course there are no guarantees on that, but if this doesn't work she's going to help us get the documentary out to the media and other outlets, including the missing person’s circuit, to gain attention for Joe's case!!!

So Glendene, you have done one AMAZING job for us!!! Thanks so much.

GLENDENE: OMG – THAT IS SO AMAZING. Thank you for telling me this. I am thrilled for Joe’s family. This could be very big for the case – perhaps finally bring answers. May I share this news? Love G.

GINA: Absolutely! Please feel free to share this. You've brought an opportunity to us that wasn't there before and we will be forever grateful!!

Circumstances of disappearance:

Joe attended a party on Jan 16, 1987 as he had many other weekends at the popular local party spot.

The area kids were using the burned out remnants of the Mt. Cathalia Ski Lodge as a party location for years.

Joe was seen arguing with three individuals, John LaForge, age 21, Wade Marks, age 18, and Kelly Diaz, age 16, which was getting very heated.

Joe later nervously asked a friend of his for a ride home, but this person had many others in his car and couldn't take Joe.

About an hour after this Joe left the party with John, Wade and Kelly in John's car.

All three made it home safely that night, but Joe was never seen again.

The three made up a story about a car getting stuck and Joe leaving to walk the 5-10 miles back to town (Wade & John lived about 2 miles away so this makes no sense), and Kelly later admitted that the story of the car getting stuck was just a lie to hide the truth.

He wouldn't elaborate further. Law enforcement continues to insist that they do not consider the three persons of interest or suspects. It just makes no sense at all.

Anti-Human Trafficking Bill Adopted by House of Commons - Heads to the Senate

News Release

Anti-Human Trafficking Bill Adopted by House of Commons

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 27, 2012

Ottawa, ON: Today, Bill C-310, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (trafficking in persons), passed at Third Reading with unanimous consent. Bill C-310 will now go to the Senate for consideration.

“I am absolutely delighted with the adoption of Bill C-310 today by the House of Commons and look forward to it being adopted by the Senate in a timely manner,” said MP Joy Smith. “Bill C-310 will have a significant impact on the anti-human trafficking efforts of Canada here at home as well as abroad. This legislation will place important legal tools into the hands of prosecutors and law enforcement.”

Bill C-310 amends the Criminal Code by adding the current trafficking in persons offences [s.279.01, s.279.011, s.279.02, and s.279.03] to the list of offences which, if committed outside of Canada by a Canadian or permanent resident, could be prosecuted in Canada. The Bill also adds an interpretive aid for courts to provide greater clarity of the definition of exploitation in s.279.04 of the Criminal Code.

“Today, modern day slavery exists in all corners of our globe and our resolve to eliminate it must only grow stronger,” said MP Smith. “It will take concerted efforts across party lines to effectively combat human trafficking in our country as well as abroad. I look forward to working with all members of Parliament to fight this egregious abuse of human rights.”

Since introducing Bill C-310, MP Joy Smith has presented petitions containing 1000’s of signatures from Canadians calling for the adoption of the legislation. Many organizations have also lent their support for this legislation, representing stakeholders such as law enforcement, victim’s services, and non-governmental organizations.

MP Joy Smith is one of Canada’s leading anti-human trafficking advocates and has previously succeeded in passing legislation to combat human trafficking. In 2010, MP Joy Smith’s Bill C-268 became law creating Canada’s first child trafficking offence with stiff minimum sentences. MP Smith has also drafted a proposal for a National Action Plan to Combat Human trafficking called ‘Connecting the Dots’ that is being developed by the Canadian Government.

Backgrounder - Statements of Support

Prof. Benjamin Perrin, University of British Columbia, Faculty of Law, and author of Invisible Chains: Canada’s Underground World of Human Trafficking (Penguin, 2011)

“Human traffickers have evaded prosecution for their heinous crimes, in part, because Canada’s criminal laws are not explicit enough to clearly encompass the range of tactics employed by these serial exploiters. Member of Parliament Joy Smith is again responding to concerns by police and victims’ groups in seeking to amend our human trafficking laws to hold traffickers accountable and protect victims. I call on all Parliamentarians to support this initiative.”

Jamie McIntosh, Executive Director, International Justice Mission Canada

“The crime of human trafficking often transgresses international boundaries, with vulnerable men, women, and children subject to its devastating reach. Human traffickers, including those of Canadian nationality, will persist in their illicit trade if they believe their crimes will go unpunished. Extending authority to prosecute Canadians for human trafficking crimes committed abroad is an important step in the global fight against human trafficking. As a nation, we must commit to prosecuting Canadian nationals who commit these crimes, regardless of geographical location at the time of offence.”

Timea Nagy, Program Director, Walk With Me

“As an internationally trafficked survivor, who has been working with Canadian law enforcement to help human trafficking victims, I am absolutely thrilled to see this legislation presented by Mrs. Smith. It is clear, that Mrs. Smith has consulted professionals, experts from the field, and listened. This Bill will help Canadian law enforcement and prosecutors to be able to do their job and send a message to traffickers around the world, that Canada does not tolerate this crime against human dignity.”

K. Brian McConaghy, Founding Director, Ratanak International

“It is imperative that Canada continues to maintain and enhance a position of strength combating modern day slavery both domestic and international. It is a given that we must protect those weak among us who are at risk of being trafficked. It is no less important that we protect those in other countries from Canadian predators who would traffic in human lives. Such Canadians must be held fully accountable for their actions. This amendment, conforming to international legal norms, positions Canada to do just that and as such is to be commended.”

Shae Invidiata, Founder, [free-them]

“In conjunction with The Act and The Purpose, The United Nations deems a case to be human trafficking if ‘threatened of’ or ‘use of violence, force, coercions, fraudulent misrepresentation or fraudulent means’ is used. Without any hesitation these methods constitute exploitation and, in supporting Mrs. Smith’s Private Members Bill, should be amended into the Criminal Code of Canada.”

Irena Soltys, Ukrainian World Congress Taskforce to Stop Human Trafficking

"The amendments to Bill C-310 proposed by Member of Parliament Joy Smith are critical to the headway of combating human trafficking at both national and international levels. Bringing clarity to the definition of Exploitation will close the gaps that have allowed offenders to continuously sidestep the justice system and elude punishment for some of the most atrocious crimes known to mankind. At an international level, we as Canadians aspire to be respectable and virtuous global citizens which demands that we recognize and hold accountable those Canadians that disrupt the laws and ethics of our nation within or outside its borders, especially for acts of such monstrosity as human trafficking and exploitation."

Michelle Brock, CoFounder, Hope For The Sold

"The current gap in the Criminal Code essentially tells the international community that Canada is not capable of holding its citizens accountable for exploiting vulnerability abroad. This is a stain on Canada's reputation. In addition to this, Canada's lacking definition of exploitation allows traffickers to play the system while law enforcement, lawyers, prosecutors, and victims lack the required tools with which to make their case. Bill C-310 is an absolute necessity if this country is to take the fight against human trafficking seriously."

The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada

“The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada is pleased to support Bill C-310, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (trafficking in persons), another positive initiative by MP Joy Smith to combat human trafficking. We are hopeful that Bill C-310 will receive strong support in Parliament and become law in Canada. We also encourage the Government of Canada to take additional steps to develop a National Action Plan to combat trafficking.”

Liliane Kohl and Peggy Sakow, Chairpersons, The Temple Committee Against Human Trafficking

“It is our position that any Canadian who is found trafficking in human beings must face charges at home. We believe there is a responsibility to being a Canadian citizen whether at home or abroad. Bill C-310 is yet another step forward in responding to the growing world scourge of sex trafficking. We are honoured to support Bill C-310.”

She felt called to speak out and she feels that speaking out about being trafficked is part of her healing, just like helping others is.

She is a survivor and she has overcome many obstacles in her life. She was abused and trafficked as a young girl. The fact that she is alive is a miracle – after being abused, shot, stabbed, raped, kidnapped, trafficked, beaten, jailed and more, all before she was 18 years old.

Barbara feels she is alive today so she can share her story with others, and her hope is that her story will help others overcome adversity in their own lives.

Barbara wants listeners to this show to take what they need from her life lessons and use them in their own lives.

Elements Of Human Trafficking: on the basis of the definition given in the Trafficking in Persons Protocol, it is evident that trafficking in persons has three constituent elements;

THE ACT (what is done): recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons.

THE MEANS (how it is done): threat or use of force, coercion, abduction, fraud, deception, abuse of power or vulnerability, or giving payments or benefits to a person in control of the victim.

THE PURPOSE (why it is done): for the purpose of exploitation - which includes exploiting the prostitution of others, sexual exploitation, forced labour, slavery or similar practices and the removal of organs.

To ascertain whether a particular circumstance constitutes trafficking in persons, consider the definition of trafficking in the Trafficking in Persons Protocol and the constituent elements of the offense, as defined by relevant domestic legislation.

Tune in to my BlogTalkRadio show tonight for part 2 of my interview with Barbara Amaya, a survivor of the crime of human trafficking‏

Tonight I talk with human trafficking survivor Barbara Amaya about this crime

GUEST: Barbara Amaya, a human trafficking survivor

WEBSITE: http://barbaraamaya.com/

EMAIL: contactme@barbaraamaya.com

TWITTER: https://twitter.com/#!/barbaraamaya4

FACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com/barbara.amaya.7

Barbara Amaya has broken her silence only a few weeks ago, after so many, many years.

Barbara is writing a book called “Girl’s Guide to Survival, Life Lessons from the Street”. She is working with Brooke Warner.

Re: A big thank you from Jessie´s mom Glendene

Post by Pedro Silva on Sun May 27, 2012 11:20 am

On Sunday, May 27, 2012 I am having a special BlogTalkRadio show to honour my ♥ daughter ♥ Jessie Foster's birthday. ♥

♥ Jessie has been missing since March 29, 2006 when ♥ she was just 21 years old. We have missed out on ♥ her 22nd, 23rd,... 24th, 25th, 26th and ♥ her 27th birthdays ... last year, ♥ her 27th, was ♥ her Champagne Birthday. ♥

Now we are approaching ♥ Jessie’s 28th birthday and we are still no closer to finding ♥ her than we were when ♥ she went missing. ♥

But there has been a huge difference made. ♥

♥ Jessie has changed how people look at human trafficking. ♥

They know that victims can be just like ♥ Jessie, with whom I have shared with the world. ♥

♥ Jessie is everyone’s daughter, everyone’s sister, and everyone’s friend. ♥

♥ Jessie is the most well-known human trafficking victim in Canada and even other parts of the world. ♥

♥ Jessie is a poster-child for modern-day sex slavery but as sad as that reality is, since I did not have a choice in having a missing ♥ daughter . . . then I would choose to have a well-known poster-child missing ♥ daughter than someone that has been forgotten. ♥♥♥

I LOVE YOU ♥ JESSIE-BESSIE, AND I WILL NEVER, EVER FORGET ♥ YOU OR STOP LOOKING FOR ♥ YOU. ♥

I RELISH ALL THE WONDERFUL MEMORIES I HAVE OF ♥ YOU AND I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE PICTURES I TOOK OF ALL ♥ YOU KIDS AND THAT ♥ YOU GOT THAT FROM ME, SO I HAVE SO MANY PICTURES OF ♥ YOURS THAT YOU TOOK AFTER ♥ YOU LEFT KAMLOOPS. ♥

I REMEMBER EVERY SINGLE ONE OF ♥ YOUR BIRTHDAYS THAT I SPENT WITH YOU . . . WHICH WAS EVERY ONE IN ♥ YOUR LIFE UNTIL YOUR 16th AND ♥ YOU MOVED TO CALGARY. ♥

♥ YOUR 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th were all celebrated there, and ♥ your 21st in Las Vegas. I am sorry that ♥ you were taken there and that was ♥ your last birthday ♥ you got to enjoy . . . turning 21 in Vegas should have been a trip memories were built on, not the start of a nightmare. ♥

LOVE MOM ♥

JESSIE'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION GOES ALL DAY LONG (not an actual event) . . .

My BlogTalkRadio show for Jessie is at the following time:

Do you have a minimum of just $1 you can send to help Jessie's mom get to Calgary for JESSIE FOSTER'S 10 YEAR GRAD REUNION CEREMONY?‏

OKAY FOLKS ... this is important and there is no way I can afford to go without everyone's help!

JESSIE GRADUATED ON JUNE 1, 2002 - her 10 year grad reunion is coming up (I have not been given the date yet) and we have been given 2 tickets to attend and the opportunity to speak to her fellow classmates at the event.

I am hoping that I will be able to be one of those attending, with either Jessie's dad Dwight or her stepmom Tracy, who live in Calgary.

Now, I know I ask a lot from you all - sending out invitations and posts all day, everyday, but there is just always so much that needs to be done.

There are a lot of people who are always asking me what they can do to help, and this is a way to do it.

If you have a PayPal account all you have to do is go to: https://www.paypal.com and click on SEND MONEY to donate to this very worthy cause ... any amount will help.

Another option is to send an Email Money Transfer to glendene@shaw.ca.

And then SHARE this with others and ask them to do the same.

And if anyone asks WHO IS JESSIE & WHY SHOULD I HELP? Tell them that Jessie is a victim of human trafficking and you should help because her mom is doing all she can do educate as many people as possible about the horrific crime that took her daughter away. Tell them to Google JESSIE FOSTER and they will see all the information they will need to know all about Jessie.

Think of this: if everyone invited to this 'event' donated a minimum of $1.00 each, we would not just get enough to get me to Calgary for the reunion, but it will also help get me back to Calgary on October 19, 2012 for my human trafficking awareness presentation I am booked to do there - which also happens to be my 55th birthday.

Schools do not have the budget to pay for me to get there, like an organization does, so I have to get myself there. And this is one opportunity that I do not want to miss, as it was in that school that Jessie met the recruiter that took her away from us all those years ago.

THE FOLLOWING IS THE MESSAGE I GOT ABOUT THE REUNION:

Dear Jessica Foster’s Family,

On behalf of John G. Diefenbaker’s Graduation Class of 2002, we would like to extend two tickets for your family to join us at the class of 2002’s Ten Year Reunion. We are all with heavy hearts that Jessica cannot be with us to celebrate this occasion, but we hope she can be there in spirit though her family. We would love to see you there and will offer an opportunity for someone in your group to address her fellow classmates in whatever way you see fit.

Re: A big thank you from Jessie´s mom Glendene

Post by Pedro Silva on Sun Jun 17, 2012 4:21 am

Hi everyone. Thank you all for your support. I have the date for Jessie's 10 year Grad Reunion – it is next Saturday, June 23, 2012 ... sooner than I thought it was going to be.

So far I have been very fortunate enough to have had several friends and Jessie supporters donate just over $200, which is about half of what it will be for me to book a flight from Kamloops to Calgary and back (at approximately $150 plus fees & taxes each way, it is more than usual, as I do not have time to do an advance booking to save a bit of money). I would not be sending out another plea for help if I did not find out yesterday that I only had a week.

Keep in mind, if there ends up being more than enough money for me to attend Jessie's 10 year grad reunion, I have another trip to Calgary coming up in October that this will also help with. Earlier this year I was contacted by John G. Diefenbaker High School – the school Jessie graduated from – to do a human trafficking presentation for the students on October 19th, which is also my 55th birthday.

Some of you have messaged me that you are not in a position to send money but you want to do anything you can to help. Well this is something you can forward to others and that would help a lot.

If you have a PayPal account all you have to do is go to:

https://www.paypal.com

and click on SEND MONEY to donate to this very worthy cause ... any amount will help.

Another options are to send an Email Money Transfer to glendene@shaw.ca or ask me for my mailing address to send through the postal service.

Thank you all so much for everything you do, be it contributing; forwarding; praying ... anything and everything you can do, for over 6 years ... to help us find Jessie, or at least raise and keep awareness to her disappearance. To me that is amazing. To most of you it is because Jessie has become your own daughter, your own sister, or your own friend and you have come to love her as we do. That means the world to me. Together we have turned Jessie's horrible disappearance into a saving grace. Jessie's case has saved other women from becoming a potential victim of human trafficking – simply because they heard about it and it caused them to make a change in things they were doing. I know this is true, because I have not just talked to their mothers and friends, but in some cases I have talked to the women themselves. And to me, this is 2nd only to finding Jessie. I believe that is why I have been put in the position of being the mother of a human trafficking victim ... I believe that God must have thought I was capable of handling this, and somehow I was.

Link to JESSIE'S GRAD ~ 2002 video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDlRDEjMXMc 9m:02s ... Uploaded by JessiesMomGlendene 8 Oct 2009: My daughter Jessie graduated in 2002, was taken to the USA in 2005 and went missing in 2006. Jessie is an international endangered missing woman and the victim of a human trafficking ring.

JUNE 17, 2012: MEDIA RELEASE

LAS VEGAS RESCUE MISSION

FREE OF CHARGE FOR FAMILIES

CONTACT: Glendene Grant

Email: glendene@shaw.ca or jessiesmom@jessiefoster.ca

Call or text: 250-299-3694

Or on Facebook – MissingJessie Foster: http://www.facebook.com/MissingJessieFoster

Glendene Grant: http://www.facebook.com/glendenegrant

If you have a daughter or son who has gone (AKA: been taken) to the Las Vegas, Nevada area there is a new group that I have been in touch with who will look for them on your behalf FREE OF CHARGE for families.

They are from Las Vegas and they know the areas that these women & men are taken to by the pimps who suck them in to going there with them, whether it is to move there with a (so-called) boyfriend; to go on a (so-called) trip; or forced to go there –

If you are worried about what is happening to your loved one in the Las Vegas area, contact me and I will put you in touch with them.

Please understand they will have to ensure you are a family member so the group is not put in danger by a pimp trying to pull a "fast one" with the intent to harm someone in the group. As you can well imagine this is not something that will go over well with the pimps and traffickers in Sin City, so precautions will be taken.

This group has ONE MISSION and ONE MISSION only:

TO HELP FIND YOUR CHILD AND GET THEM HOME TO THEIR FAMILY BEFORE THEY END UP MISSING LIKE JESSIE FOSTER OR MURDERED LIKE LINDSAY HARRIS.

Even if all you want is to get a message to your child to have them call you, THIS CAN BE DONE. If they need a safe place to stay until they can get home, IT IS AVAILABLE; if you need help financially getting them home, IT IS AVAILABLE.

THESE PEOPLE NOT JUST MEMBERS OF A GROUP, THEY ARE MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WHO ARE READY TO HELP GET YOUR CHILDREN BACK FROM THESE VIOLENT PIMPS & TRAFFICKERS.

THE FLIGHT IS BOOKED. IT WAS $420.77. I have received $380 in donations with a couple more being sent through the postal service!!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS SO GENEROUSLY DONATED TO THIS WORTHY CAUSE. IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME TO HAVE THIS SUPPORT.

Since I am arriving in Calgary on Friday morning, my contact there will be at work, so I will need a few expenses to get me to where I will be staying and for meals.

I have left a message for Sandman about a room. In the past they have been very kind with a good rate and even once donating the room completely to me. I figure if I have to pour my heart out again, it will be nice to get a chance to relax in their hot tub before and after.

IF ANYONE IS STILL INTERESTED IN DONATING, KEEP IN MIND, ANY EXTRA FUNDING WILL BE HELD IN TRUST FOR THE UPCOMING HUMAN TRAFFICKING PRESENTATION IN OCTOBER AT JESSIE'S OLD HIGH SCHOOL IN CALGARY AND FOR ANY OTHER PROJECTS THAT I AM ABLE TO INVOLVE M.A.T.H. (Mothers Against Trafficking Humans) IN, THANK YOU:

**If you have a PayPal account all you have to do is go to: https://www.paypal.com and click on SEND MONEY to donate to this very worthy cause ... any amount will help.

**Other options are to send an Email Money Transfer to glendene@shaw.ca OR ask me for my mailing address to send through the postal service.

I am hoping that the trip to Calgary will be including several presentations, not just the one at John G. Diefenbaker High School. I was fortunate to have given 3 presentations at Henry Wise Wood High School in Calgary last year ... but with over 50 Middle, Junior High and High schools in Calgary and 16 of them are Senior High ... this city is in dire need of human trafficking education for the nearly 50,000 teenage students.

** Calgary Board of Education Enrolment Breakdown:

Grades 7, 8 & 9 = 21,505

Grades 10, 11 & 12 = 25,547

SHE HAS A NAME by Andrew Kooman ... Inspired by an event in April of 2008 in which an abandoned storage container was found in Thailand containing 121 workers from Burma, 54 of them dead, Andrew Kooman’s She Has A Name dramatically gives human trafficking a face.

Synopsis: Haunted by anguished voices, a lawyer poses as a john to build a legal case against a brothel trafficking girls into Bangkok. Can Jason win the trust of a young prostitute known only as Number 18 and convince her to risk her life to testify for the sake of justice?

Post by Pedro Silva on Wed Jul 11, 2012 7:53 pm

One year ago today, on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 - 2 days before my Dad's 85th birthday, my daughter Katie met me up at his place and drove us to the hospital, as he was not feeling well. Dad had been coughing so much he had lost his voice and he even had a slight yellow tint to his skin on his head & neck. After a couple of hours in the waiting room, they finally got him into a bed in the emergency ward. When the doctor finally got there, it was evident that he was pretty sure what it was right away. He told me that he was going to go get the portable ultra-sound machine, as he thought Dad possibly had pancreatic cancer, and he suspected that the tumor was big enough to be stopping his liver from functioning properly (which caused the yellow tint to his skin). When he came back with the machine and ran it over Dad's lower abdomen and we both saw a big dark spot, which he pointed to and said, "See that?" and I said, "Yes". He was right ... it was a tumor. Dad was admitted to the hospital and some tests were run. It was confirmed and they called us in. Due to his advanced age and his own request, there would be no radical work to save his life. Even if they did try to remove the tumor, he would most likely end up hooked up to a ventilator for the remainder of his life. They gave him 3 to 6 months ... he died less than 2 months later. Jim and I visited Dad practically every day while he was in the hospital. I would make sure his dentures were cleaned after every meal, and I would shave him every couple of days. Dad was not alone when he passed. Most of his children and some of his grandchildren were there when he left us. And earlier that night even more of us had a wonderful family dinner at the hospice where he had been for 2 nights. That night Jim, through tears and a choked voice said, “You need to give Dad a shave, he liked to be clean shaven”, so I got everything out and did the left side of his face, but when I could not reach around without moving everyone out of the way, Jimmie took the razor and finished the other side. It was decided that we would take turns staying with Dad every night until the end. I was to stay that night and I went home to get a few things, and when I came back, we sat around, talking and watching Miami CSI on the TV in the room.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR DADDY, James George Grant - but everyone called him Jim - or Dad, or Grandpa or Great-grandpa Grant or Uncle Jim! He would be 86 today. This is our first birthday without him, and the 1st of everything is very hard. WE ALL LOVE YOU, DADDY - AND WE MISS YOU LOTS In the room when Dad took his last breath, was my younger sister Barb, my younger brother Jimmie, my nephew Adam and I. A few times we stopped talking and looked at Dad, as he seemed to stop breathing, but he would always catch his breath again.
Until he didn't. Adam said, it seems to have been a minute or so since Grandpa's last breath and we all stopped. We all looked at Dad and waited for him to breathe again, but he didn't. We called the nurse and he told us that Dad was gone. My brother Jimmie hugged me and I looked at him and said, Is he really gone and Jimmie said Yes. I WAS CRUSHED. WE WERE ALL CRUSHED. I quickly called our older brother Gordie & his wife Pat and our oldest sister Donna & her husband Mel here in Kamloops. Then our oldest brother Irwin in Calgary, Jimmie called his wife Colette in Maple Ridge, BC, Adam's sister in Legal, AB & his wife at Dad's place and all the kids. My daughter Crystal was in Grande Prairie with my sister’s son, Wil and his family so we called there and I called Katie and Jennee. We were all in shock. Dad was gone to meet Mom, finally – after over 13 years apart … and he was all clean shaven and handsome, as always, for her! September 10, 2011 (09-10-11) we said our final goodbyes to Dad with an Open House at his place where family and friends came from all over with their love and respect for a great man that was loved by many.

SUNDAY, July 8, 2012 – Would have been my Dad’s 86th birthday.

MONDAY, July 9, 2012 – I was in touch with Jon Leiberman about a segment he does on CNN/HLN about a missing persons series they are doing .... his reply to me was: I have a podcast and my segment on HLN we can definitely have you on both. I will be in touch. Please email your contact info to reporterjon@gmail.com - Thanks Jon

**WHICH OF COURSE I DID!!

TUESDAY, July 10, 2012 – I got a message from Tara Teng ... Miss BC 2010, Miss Canada 2011, Miss World Canada 2012 and (soon to be) Miss World 2012 - http://www.facebook.com/tarateng

"Anyone know a videographer in Kamloops? I need to interview my dear friend, Glendene Grant, the mother of a missing daughter and human trafficking victim, Jessie Foster.

Glendene wants to share Jessie's story in my "Beauty with a Purpose" video for Miss World but we need someone to film it .... anyone know a videographer in Kamloops who could film it and send us the footage?

We want it to be high quality so that 2 billion people will see it and hopefully we can help Jessie and many other daughters just like her! Please let us know ASAP :)"

**ALSO ... Remember, the more LIKES that Tara receives on the Miss World Canada page, the more points she will earn on the Miss World scoreboard! So LIKE the following link: http://www.facebook.com/MissWorldCanada

WEDNESDAY, July 11, 2012 – MESSAGE I RECEIVED: I help produce a television news series for NBC, which focuses on the issues surrounding human trafficking in the U.S. and the rest of the world. Our team has interviewed several parents with children who have been victims of human traffickers. Our goal has always been to raise awareness about human trafficking, and to help parents find their missing children. I've found the story of your daughter Jessie to be one that is heartbreaking and all too common.

We've found that police often have difficulties with these types of missing person’s cases because they don't fully understand how women and children can be lured or forced into the world of human trafficking. It would help if I could briefly talk to any family members about Jessie's case, and possibly set up an interview for our next television news piece. Our hope is that an interview will bring more attention to Jessie's case, as well as keep other parents informed about the dangers of prostitution and escort services.

Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns. I can also provide more details about our news program should you be interested.

Thank you for your time, Addison McNaughton.

**In the end, I was on the phone with him for over 1 & 1/2 hours and in the end it looks like Jessie might be included in an upcoming episode of MSNBC's Sex Slaves in American series.

THURSDAY, July 12, 2012 – As many of you know, I have been trying very hard to get some help with a short term loan to pay off some outstanding debts so we will ultimately be eligible for a mortgage. It has been an uphill battle the entire way, so I finally sent a detailed message to a few people who I thought (hoped) may be in a financial position to help us ... we do not want charity, we need someone to trust and believe in us and to help us get over this last hurdle so we can buy the house.

This morning I got a very positive message from my friend, Colorado Bail Bondsman Bobby Brown in reply to that message I mentioned above:

BOBBY BROWN: Glendene, I am obviously familiar with your hard work and now hearing this, I can only promise to put this on the TOP SHELF and see if we can get somebody to STEP up for someone that has not MISSED a STEP. God Bless YOU & YOURS Glendene, we will remain in touch. BOBBY BROWN. www.bobbybrown.com

GLENDENE: Thank you Bobby. We just need help for a short time .... then we are back on our feet! Bless you, my friend .... Glendene.

FRIDAY, July 13, 2012 – What great thing(s) will happen for us on this Friday the 13th. TRUE STORY: when I was younger (before becoming a mother), Crystal & Jessie’s dad, Dwight and I used to go to all the Friday the 13th movies. lol
