Ranks in PJ organisation

Post by Cath on Sat Nov 21, 2009 9:55 am

I remember I've read (almost 2 years ago) information about the structure of the PJ and the ranks.
In fact it also described the cultural differences between several European Police Forces.
Can't find it anymore. That's a pity, but it doesn't matter if one our Portuguese posters could tell us a bit more about it.

Reading how the lower ranked Inspectors send their reports to Amaral & Tavares it looks like it's a strong hierarchic organization.
Another question : does anybody know where I can find figures and statistics etc.?

Oops, how did I do that? Making the thread blue?
Anyway I asked because I was thinking - and somebody else confirmed it ages ago - that Amarals position wasn't really that much high up, considering he's working in Portimão in stead of Lisbon. And considering his age.
But it's better to find unbiased proof of that.

Didn't Sofia basically suggest that also, Cath, in her infamous letters?

Indeed Bluj, she sounded bitter about his career opportunities.
Reminds me, she was writing about moving houses too.
Must try to find that letter. I'm sure it''s on this site as well as on Pfa2 but I think I'm using the wrong words trying to find it.
Anybody who can help me with a link?

ETA no need to go looking for it anymore. I've found it on SOS Madeleine.

I also had a hard time copying it here.

1. Go to www.policiajudiciaria.pt
2. Chose, on the left hand list, 'Unidades orgânicas'
3. On the the centre list chose 'Oroganograma' (very last on the right)
4. Then, in the middle, press over 'Organograma PJ2009'
5. There you are

Got it Maria. Thanks. But to be frankly honest to you, I've found this organogram earlier myself too.
I think I didn't make it clear what I'm looking for.
There's ranks in a police organisation. Like Inspector, Chief-Inspector Coördinator etc. That's what I'm looking for.

Oh I see. But I think this should be somewhere else and not necessarily online. This in fact is a carrer structure. Don't know where to find it.

No problem Maria. I'll think of another way to find what I was looking for.
