Today I did....

Post by vee8 on Mon May 11, 2009 7:37 am

A charity motorbike ride in aid of my local hospice. Altogether somewhere around 3000 was raised. It took me over an hour to load the pics on my own car club's forum, so I will just give you a link to it there, and you can enjoy the pictures! Alroy, some of the older bikes may take you back a bit!

Last Saturday we've had a charity fundraising party too. It was for the local 'old folks home'. In fact it was a boring meeting, but the after-party gathering was fun (still got a hangover). Think I'd preferred to do a motorbike ride though. :Nothingtoadd:

I'm not that good with bikes myself, at least not these days. Over thirty years ago, when I was a teenager, it was diferent. I was into bikes big time, especially the American chopper style, the ones with huge long front forks, and ape hanger handlebars. East Rider comes to mind. Nowadays, I only really got the bike purely and simply as an inexpensive tool, a cheap way to get to and from work, so I was a bit reluctant to get involved with this, even tough it is a good cause, and one close to my families heart. However, on the day I found I really enjoyed myself, and found I was regressing back to my teenage years! (Though it has never taken much for that to happen! I am still a big kid at heart!) I will almost certainly do it again next year now.
