Confirmation that Gerry wasn't in the restaurant ...

Post by honestbroker on Thu Jan 29, 2009 6:22 am

<BLOCKQUOTE class=uncited>Gonçalo Amaral speaks to IOL PortugalDiário, 03/04 August 2008

PortugalDiário: The PJ's report dismisses the Smiths' testimony, due to the hour at which they say they saw the person with the child…

Gonçalo Amaral: 'It cannot be that way, because nobody knows for sure at what time the things happened. The reconstruction was not made, therefore it is impossible to know for certain. The employees do not state that Gerry McCann was in the restaurant. They only say that people were sitting down and getting up from the table. Their testimony [Smith] is very credible. The way that the person walked, the clumsy manner in which the child was held. It is nothing that sounds invented. Is it evidence? Certainly not. It is information that has to be worked further.'

He's a funny man. Dismisses the sighting of the Smith family. But he finds it conclusive enough to assume that killing Madeleine, hiding the body, burying it on the beach and then digging it up again and transporting the body in a hired car to a place yet to be found, is perfectly credible.

The end was already decided. Them means to justify the end just had to be constructed.

I beg to differ Mr Amaral.

There is clear evidence from the testimony of the Tapas group, as well as staff, that Gerry was in the restaurant at the time of the Smith sighting.

The thing is, some of the staff dont know, or say he wasnt there, and others say he was.

As I told Bennett, you cannot just dismiss testimony because you dont like what it says. Unless there is evidence such as CCTV then they cannot just dismiss the witnesses they dont like. The same with the claims that RM was out and about that night. Unfortunately, different people remember things differently, and that is why there is conflicting testimony. The thing is that this proves nothing, because unless you can prove one of them is actually wrong. But I think if the Tapas group and other independent witnesses place Gerry at the Tapas bar at 9.45 to 10pm, then the testimony of 1 chef doesnt really cut it.

I am not going to drag back through the threads, but wasnt there a couple of testimonies posted on here from staff members that said Gerry was there, and that they then contacted the Millenium restaurant etc etc.

Yep, there are several testimonies placing Gerry there.

Sr Amaral being the expert can tell which ones are true false or speculative theory. He knows you know.

to be honest with you my father carries a child the same way as Gerry. So would they be holding my father as a suspect on that note???

Seems unfair to me. How do they suppose Gerry carries a sleeping child from off of the plane???Across his arms??Then they would be saying he fits the e-fit of the guy seem walking away with Madeleine!!! Its about setting them up around the crime imo...not trying to find out who it was that night that took that little girl.

I wonder how gonc would carry a sleeping child??

Exactly Clair

Especially as he would need one hand available to hold the grab rail as he came down the aeroplane steps, in case he slipped whilst carrying his precious son.

Anyone with an ounce oif brain would carry their child that way when coming down steps
